You are eligible to use the CADS Tutorial Lab on the ground floor of the Capen Library. Need help with study skills or time management? Looking for a tutor for a certain course? Workshops on academic, career, and personal topics will help you learn about important issues with other students in the program. They're interactive, educational, and fun!
You can attend various cultural events with other SSS students to gain exposure to events you might not otherwise have the opportunity to see. Past events include dance performances, theatre, concerts, historical museums, horseback riding and sporting events. As with all services, cultural events are free to SSS students!
SSS loans laptop computers to students for up to five weeks at a time, so that you can take advantage of UB's wireless campus.
The goal of the Peer Mentoring Program is to enhance the college experience for first-year, sophomore, or transfer students by providing them with junior- or senior-level mentors to "show them the ropes."
Graduate/Professional School Prep includes workshops, individualized research into your options, assistance writing your personal statement, getting letters of recommendation, visits to grad/professional schools in other cities, and test prep courses (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, PCAT, etc.).
The Public Service Internship Program (PSIP) helps you secure internships for UB credit from a diverse range of public, private, government, or community service agencies and businesses locally, nationally and internationally. An internship can help secure your future employement!
SSS grant aid is available to those who are eligible.
