Service Excellence Celebration 2000 Project Title: Helping Freshmen Get "Wired" at UB Project Description: Access99 required freshmen entering UB in fall 1999 to have access to a computer. This project team forecasted and prepared an inventory of network card adapters and modems that met campus IT standards and a wide variety of desktop and laptop computer specifications. During the weekend of September Welcome, the project team helped more than 400 newly arrived freshmen select the appropriate devices for their computers, and they installed those devices at no charge—all in time for the start of classes the following Monday morning.
