Project Description: MyUB is a web-based, personalized
information vortal (vertical market portal) that delivers time-based
living and learning information to students. It allows students
to access all of UB’s web resources at any time from a single
webpage that they customize to meet their individual needs and
interests. Through MyUB students can register for courses, access
class schedules and financial aid information, and learn about
course requirements for majors. Since it serves as a personalized
guide to the university, students can add links as they wish
and turn off links they no longer use. The time-based, today-based
delivery mechanism makes MyUB unique among other educational
sites, and among commercial sites, as well.
