Service Excellence Celebration 2000

Project Title:
IT Employee Retention and Development Project

Project Description: The IT Employee Retention and Development Project resulted in an organizational structure within Administrative Computing Services (ACS) that reduced the number of staff in-house job titles from thirty to ten, completely described those titles on all dimensions of performance expectations, and defined the critical success factors against which performance in the titles is evaluated. By coupling a more flexible title structure with the performance program and appraisal process, ACS has been able to inventory its core competencies and chart a course for the professional development of its employees. The internal title structure, skills inventory system, and performance evaluation system are available to all ACS employees via the unit’s intranet.
