Drs. Nevergold and Bertram attended the Lucky Number Luncheon hosted by Xi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at the Golden Nugget. The authors signed copies of their books and also donated a two book packet to the sorority to auction off. The event included both live and silent auctions, the proceeds of which go to support the sorority's scholarships awarded to high school students. The Uncrowned Queens books brought in $27.00 which was contributed to the sorority's scholarship fund. |

Peggy Brooks-Bertram is the chair of the Hospice Committee for St. John Baptist Church. |

The luncheon was held at the Buffalo Convention Center and attended by more than 900 individuals. A number of Uncrowned Queens were also recognized by the Y for their contributions in various areas of community service and cultural/artistic achievement. |
