Betty Jean Grant

Betty Jean Grant, a Buffalo City Council member, represented the city's University District. Ms. Grant is also a businesswoman and owner of Grant's Variety Shoppe. She completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at Medaille College and earned a Master of Science Degree from the University at Buffalo.

Ms. Grant is active in numerous community organizations including: The Black Leadership Forum; SCLC; Marcus Garvey Day Committee; the Kwanzaa Committee; the CAO of Erie County; Community Voice Organization; the President's Club and the Black Chamber of Commerce of Western New York. She is the founder of Aids Education, Information Support Services (AEISS) and former president of the Parkridge/Clarence Avenue Block Club. She is a Life Subscribing Member of the NAACP.

She is married to George Grant, and mother of Stacey, Vicki and Sherry Patton, and grandmother of three. She is a member of True Bethel Baptist Church.
