Dorothy Bass began her life in Greensboro, North Carolina were she was an active member of the Bass Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church.  She served as President of it's Women's Society of Christian Service and was a member of the Senior Choir.

In the early 1940's she moved to Buffalo, New York and joined Lincoln Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church.  She served as president of the church Women's Society and became a member of the Senior choir, serving as it's Secretary and Treasurer. She was also chairperson of the Committee on Stewardship.

Active in the community, Mrs. Bass has served as President, Secretary and Sunshine Chairperson of her block club. She also has volunteered in the neighborhood campaigns of the Western New York State Heart Association and the Leukemia Society of America.

She is proud to be a member of the Federated Women's Club, having served as Secretary, Sunshine Chairperson and corresponding secretary.

After many years of employment, Dorothy retired from her career of work with the Federal Reserve Bank.

She is the mother of two daughters, grandmother of four children, and great grandmother of three.
