UB SWAP

UB SWAP is a website which was designed to aid faculty and staff in redistributing equipment and supplies throughout the UB campuses. The purpose of the website is to give campus departments another option in addition to existing surplus procedures. It is our hope that campus departments will use this site to redistribute and reuse unneeded supplies and equipment, thereby reducing the volume of items that are relocated to the Helm Warehouse, or end up in the landfill.
By participating in SWAP you can help reduce purchasing and the volume of items that end up in the landfill, save tax and research dollars, and reduce the University's environmental impact.
UB faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the site. You will need your UBIT username and password to enter the site. For help obtaining your UBIT information please contact CIT. Once on the site, you will find listings of items available for transfer. In addition, you will have the opportunity to list any items that you no longer need.
Exchange of items takes place between the two parties, simplifying the current process by eliminating the transfer to the Helm Warehouse.
The idea for this website evolved in an effort to comply with Governor Pataki's Executive Order 111 which directs all State agencies to become more energy efficient and environmentally aware.
