LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION? FIND IT AT THE UB GREEN LIBRARY!

Is there a place nearby where you can learn more about the energy and environmental problems currently plaguing our world? A place where you can gain a greater understanding about a wide range of environmental issues, such as global warming and renewable energy? A place where you can transform from concerned citizen to well-informed, active participant in the shaping of local, regional and even global environmental policy?

Yes – and it’s right here at UB!

The UB Green Library is located at 220 Winspear Avenue, on the second floor of the Service Building at South Campus. The UB Green Library holds a wide array of media for anyone wishing to learn more about energy and environment.

The library focuses on green design and renewable energy sources, but also boasts holdings on topics from Activism to Vegetarianism. In order to ensure the latest, most relevant information, the library is constantly adding titles, with visitors able to borrow items for up to two weeks! We also offer internet access to visitors pursuing research on issues relating to energy or environment.

Our selection of magazines is unique in the campus community, and we certainly encourage everyone to come browse our video collection. Video topics include energy conservation, environmental philosophy, forest issues, renewable energy, peace & war, vegetarianism & animal rights, among many others.

Available magazines include: Adirondac; Earth Island Journal; E: The Environmental Magazine; Earth Light; Environmental Building News; Great Lakes Newsletter; Green Clips; The Progressive; Sierra; Solar Today; Wilderness; World Watch and Yes!

The UB Green Library has recently been revamped and we would encourage you to take full advantage of the environmental resources we have available. In addition, the library may be available to host small gatherings for meetings, study groups, or presentations. We look forward to our facility becoming a focal point for environmental education and awareness on the UB campus.

We welcome any questions or suggestions that you might have, so feel free to call us at 829-3535. More announcements about the UB Green Library will be forthcoming, so stay tuned!

The UB Green library is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but we suggest calling (829-3535) before you stop in to make sure someone is available to help you with all your environmental research needs.
