STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS
University at Buffalo 210 Talbert Hall

IMPORTANT NOTE: Although you may see instructions that Housing forms should be sent to the University Residence Halls & Apartments, Exchange Students should be certain to send their forms directly to STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS so we may facilitate your housing placement. Note the $200 deposit is required of all students. The deposit may be paid by check or money order or online at www.buffalo.edu/admissions/accepted. If you chose to pay your deposit online, your application will not be complete until all required materials- the deposit, the agreement card and the housing preference questionnaire has been received. As you have been informed, space in the residence halls at the University at Buffalo is at a premium, requests for on-campus housing will be received on a first come first serve basis. If you have any questions regarding these requirements please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Exchange students are offered the option of living on-campus at the University at Buffalo. For your reference, the exchange office at your home university has been provided with brochures regarding housing at U.B. In addition, you will receive a housing brochure / application when you receive your acceptance packet from U.B. Detailed information is also available on the University Residence Halls website:
http://www.ub-housing.buffalo.edu

If you wish to live in the residence halls during your exchange term, you should submit your housing application and deposit as soon as possible directly to Dr. Sandra J. Flash, Director of Study Abroad Programs, University at Buffalo, 210 Talbert Hall, Buffalo, NY 14260. Please understand that space in the University Residence Halls is limited, and assignments are made on a "first-come, first-served" basis. It is therefore recommended that you submit your housing application early; your choices will be more limited and there is no guarantee of an available room if you delay.

On-campus housing contracts expire in May, at the end of the academic year. That means that students moving into the residence halls in August will be expected to remain on-campus until May (unless their exchange program is only for one semester). Contracts beginning in January also end in May.

If you wish to live off-campus, you will be responsible for locating your own housing. You may arrange for temporary accommodations in the University Guest Quarters or a local hotel until you find permanent housing.
