UB PSI CHI Application

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology. Our Psi Chi Chapter provides you with the opportunity to join Psi Chi if you meet certain standards required by Psi Chi and the Association of College Honor Societies.

Membership in Psi Chi is an earned honor which is for life. Your membership is preserved at the Psi Chi National Office and can be called upon for reference purposes such as applications for graduate school and jobs. The only charge by the organization is a one-in-a-lifetime registration fee of $45.00.

When you are inducted into Psi Chi, you are presented with a membership certificate suitable for framing and a membership card. You are also elegible to wear Psi Chi emblems including keypins, charms, label pins, sweaters, etc. A quarterly newletter is furnished to the chapter for you to pick up free of charge at our local chapter office.

Requirements:

  1. You must have completed these psychology courses: Introductory Psychology (Psy101), Psychological Statistics (Psy207), and Scientific Inquiry (Psy 250).
  2. You must have a current status as a Psychology Major.
  3. You must have a psychology GPA of 3.4 or better and a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better.
  4. You must include an unofficial transcript or a copy of your DARS report, including those of previous schools you may have attended.
  5. You must write a brief paragraph reflecting what you want to see accomplished through Psi Chi (for example, activities you want sponsored, social events you want to participate it etc.).
  6. You must submit the Registration Card . You may print it from the web.
  7. You must submit a check for $45 payable to "Psi Chi/UB Foundation". Checks will be returned if you are not accepted.
