About Us
UB MERT (University at Buffalo Medical Emergency Response Team) is a proposed non-profit, student run basic life support first response team. We would be responding to approximately 700 medical emergencies per year on UB's North Campus, getting on scene first and stabilizing the patient until the ambulance arrives. For emergencies where every minute counts, the creation of this organization will be a vital asset to the campus. We currently have over 80 members ranging from paramedics to EMT's to non-certified students. Membership will be open to undergraduate and graduate students.
UB MERT currently has multiple doctors and Erie County EMS administrators that have agreed to volunteer their time to help us train, do QA/QI as well as assist in the daily operations. In order to expedite the process of getting this EMS agency started, we are asking the students of the University at Buffalo for your support.
Thank you,
Andrew Jacobowitz and Anthony Lazzaro
