Minutes: 4/14/99
today's minutes, courtesy of your interim secretary-person-who-doesn't-know-what-she's doing-at-any-point, michele. : )

- well, the nominees are final, and here they are....

John Hale, presidential nominee
Amy Sorrentino, vice-presidential nominee
Lisa Milano and Jennifer Mages, nominees for treasurer
Olive Demetrius and Melissa Rada, nominees for secretary.

EVERYONE IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO BE AT THE NEXT MEETING IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE!

- check out Jill's e-mail about the AIDS Memorial Vigil with Sean Sasser....it's tonight, and there are still tickets available. Volunteers needed!

- check tina's OCD listserv calendars or the office calendar for upcoming events such as GRASP's and workshops

- there are numerous fliers and information available in the office about upcoming events such as the anti-Operation Save America and pro-choice rally, and all sorts of other things. it's important to get involved not only as an organization, but as individuals--people, let's get going!

- The Film SA and the EOP SA have asked us for co-sponsorship money....we took a vote today at the meeting, and decided that $50 would be given to the EOP SA, and $100 to the Film SA, based on the amount of money asked by each.

- The Committee for Tolerance and Diversity's minutes are floating around the LGBA office...check out what they do and let them know what you think!

- There will be an Israeli dance party in the SU lobby on Monday....if you're passing through the Union, check it out and get funky. {I have absolutely no idea why I just said that.}

- This Saturday there will be an LGBA info table for the open house for incoming freshmen...we'll be giving information about the Queer Zoo, among other things, in hopes that we'll see some new faces next semester in the office and at LGBA events.

- By the way, if anyone out there is interested in living in the Queer Zoo next semester, please sign up in the office or call Troy at 645-4315. It's important to keep our queer housing, guys. Not only is it a Safe Space, but it's also just generally a nice place to hang out and chill. And it's got some of the biggest rooms on campus!

- If anyone out there indulges in any of the creative arts such as writing or drawing, consider submitting your work to Mozaic/the Lit Association. Talk to Kelly Corwin-I know she'd love to see some stuff.

- Leah Bailey's Women's Sexuality Workshops will begin tomorrow night at 8 pm in the Richmond Locked Lounge. Open to everyone. C'mon guys....masturbation, phone sex, strippers, language.....sounds like a good time to me. : )

- last but certainly not least, if anyone will be here in Buffalo after Memorial Day, there's an "Alternative Volleyball" league being organized for the summer.....talk to Peter, your friendly Special Projects Coordinator, for more information.

- well, that's all for this week, everyone.....now let's see a decent turnout for next week's elections!
