Minutes: 1/27/99
As told by Liz Holland, secretary

  • we voted to move the meeting to noon on Wednesdays instead of 2pm, since everyone complained about it. See, we do listen, sometimes.

  • SISH meeting was at 5pm on Feb 3rd, but these happen every month, and it can be any member or representative from our group, it doesn't have to be an officer. This is our section of SA, and we basically go and tell them what we're doing, and the other groups say what they're doing, you can ask for co-sponsorships, and hey Free Pizza. Talk to Jill if you want to go to the next one.

  • I don't know what the hell this is about, but I wrote down "academic advising info." So, we must have gotten a flier about it, and it wasn't too important. ;-)

  • Submit your votes to SA on who you want for Spring Fest. I vote for Tori, but I don't think she'll be coming any time soon.

  • The Multicultural Advisory Board meets once a month. We should probably have someone there as well. I don't know if there's free pizza there too, but you never know. ;-)

  • Minority Artist Guild...a group concerned with the lack of minorities in the arts, first meeting on February 4th.

  • There is a call for women artists for the Women's Center. You can have your work shown during their women's awareness month. Their office is across the hall from ours, so stop in for more details.

  • Mosaic - monthly literary and art zine needs submissions. Deadline was February 4th, but it's monthly, so.. Talk to Kelly if you want to submit something.

  • Golden Rule Award for volunteers. I think it's sponsored by JC Penny's. (booo hissssss) (they pulled advertising from Ellen)

  • conferences

....Bi Conference...like I said, everyone got sick and didn't go.
....Hartwick College.. "It's About Love" is happening March 12-14 (during our Spring Break) Their keynote speaker is Ellen's mom, Betty. I was going to go, but kinda forgot my b-day was on March 13th. However, if other people want to go, I'll go anyhow, and will drive. We need to register by February 15th, I believe. So, tell me ASAP if you want to go.

  • Clothing Drive... we need clothing donations. Also, where can we donate what's left over? We don't want to use Salvation Army, because they'll sell it and make a profit, so if you have a local open-minded church, let us know.

...also, we're going to put a box in the office for LGBAer donations. Please don't go rifling through it unless you really want to buy something!

  • Movie Night at 5pm on Feb 5th. (Bound, starring the ever lustrous Gina Gershon) ahhh. Next movie night will be Feb 19, possibly showing "Twilight of the Golds"

  • QueerZoo Potluck on Feb 14...theme is "Queen of Hearts"
