thank you to everyone who participated in all Coming Out Day activities last week... hope everyone had a good time!
let's all try to remember that the office, of all places, should be a SAFE SPACE... it's been a stressful time lately, what with COD and midterms, etc. please, if people are going to be mean and nasty to each other, take it outside! PLEASE!!!
Bhavana is looking for other people interested in attending Smith College's queer conference coming up in November (same weekend as No Frills)... interested? please see her posting to this listserv, or contact her...
on the Coming Out Support Group: it's been great that so many people have been attending, but Bhav asks that we all please keep in mind that the group is not supposed to be an extension of the office's regular socializing; we're there to support each other and discuss topics at hand; keep the side conversations to a minimum.
No Frills
b/c some of us are lazy and/or forgetful: after two weeks from now, if the office is still as litter-ridden and messy as its lately been, *** ALL FOOD AND DRINK WILL BE BANNED FROM THE PREMISES *** PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES, AND EVEN AFTER OTHERS IF NEEDS BE (personally, i'll be very sulky if we can't eat there anymore - tina)

a petition was passed around calling for Campus Cash to be "usable" off-campus, particularly in off-campus bookstores
coming elections mentioned: GO OUT 'N' VOTE!!!!!
coming in May: a queer, co-ed Buffalo softball team...
John Armstrong has suggested a thrift sale as a fund-raiserthe more fund-raising we do, the bigger SA makes our budget we'd collect clothes, sell 'em cheap in the Union, donate the leftovers...
Bhavana is planning a potluck for early November, details to follow...
Tina B., Bhavana, and Kimberly all offered their places for anyone who lacks either the means or the desire to go home for Thanksgiving, though Bhavana mentioned that she HERSELF won't be home that weekend... :^)
if people are having problems with the listserv lately, please be patient... Liz and Martin are looking into things...

- Elaine Maccio met with those interested in fostering a relationship between LGBA and GLYS... Tina B. will kind of be in charge of that for now, so if anyone wants more info, pls. e-mail Elaine at maccio@acsu.buffalo.edu... or contact Tina; in the meantime, some of us will be meeting Fri, Oct.30th @ noon in the office to plan LGBA's first presentation to GLYS (Monday Nov. 9th from 7-9pm) come if interested...
