Meeting Minutes October 9, 2003Meeting Start time: 7:16 7:16 Opening and Welcome -This year's Coming Out Week was great. The e-board would like to extend its thanks to all those who participated, worked and assisted, with out you guys it wouldn't have turned out as well as it did.7:17 Spirit Week -Last year we won third place, and we would like to see if we can do better this year. But, we can't do it alone. Everything is based on how many people participate in events, and the more people we have in the scored events the better. -There are six scored events: Window painting, the Banner contest, Joust, Godzilla Boxing, Rock Climbing, and the Wing eating contest. -In addition there will be several non-scored events that just sound fun, they include a massage-a-thon, breakfast, and a club fair during the home coming game next Saturday. -There are still sign up sheets in the office, and events start on Monday, so please take a look and sign up for things.7:23 Minutes passed around for review. (approved at 7:38)7:24 Queer Art Show -We are going to be co-sponsoring the event with the Art History Student Association -Those interested that haven't already done so should see Rachel, for the contact information for Liz or if you have questions. -Drag performers are still needed for the opening, any of our amateur performers feeling up to lending your services?7:25 Fundraising -Shaun is eager to organize some form of fundraising, but he is stuck for ideas. Does anyone have some fun, or original way to make some money? If you do Shaun would love some help.7:26 Slide Show -So despite Rachel's late-nighter on Tuesday, we weren't able to do the slide show due to the fact that the projector that HEHS promised us wasn't available. However, the show is still something that we can work on for future events. -Anyone that has things that they didn't get, or would like to help to dress up the show should talk to Rachel.7:28 Margaret Cho -Just a note about tickets. The block of tickets that we are getting is in the middle of an entire section of seats that SA has, so those that were thinking about buying tickets near us are going to find it difficult.7:29 Halloween Party -Pagan SA is having a costume party on October 31, and they have extended us an advanced invitation. More details to come, but mark your calendars.7:31 Rules -We would like to take a moment to ask everyone to please review the rules especially the ones regarding cleanliness, and PDA in the office. -Also please respect the desk, filing cabinet, and Executive mail boxes. The e-board has been having some difficulty keep track of things, because people have been moving things. They are open to members, just please ask before you go looking for things, this also extends to phone use.7:33 Social Events -There aren't that many big programs planned for the semester, but if people are interested in organizing events similar to our trip to see R and J please let the e board know. Likewise if anyone hears about an exciting community event bring it to our attention, maybe we can get a group together.7:34 Next Weeks Movie Night -What do people want to see? -Suggestions: Bound - 6 votes Trick - 2 votes In and Out - 8 votes All Over the Guy - none If These Walls Could Talk 2 - 2 votes -Next weeks movie will be In and Out Starring Kevin Kline.7:39 SISH Update -October 20th will be the start of the SA's annual Food and Clothing drive, we are judged based on weight of the items we collect, and the club bringing the most wins $250. -So anyone feeling like cleaning out their closet should look for the box that will be appearing in the office. -Lorenzo is launching an Adopt-a-Temporary Club program within the SISH council. This is our way of supporting, fledgling clubs. Is anyone a member of a club that they would like to help out? Bring ideas to the e-board.Meeting end: 7:42 |
