LGBTA Meeting Minutes for Thursday, October 3, 2002
Fall 2002 Meeting #6

~Meeting began at 8:05 in 362 Student Union~

-We received an estimate on the shirts we sent orders in for and will probably receive them soon. They should all be free to those who ordered them. The background color for the logo is going to be a charcoal gray and the text is silver.
-Chris, Danny, and Anisa from The Real World should all be coming to the Out, Loud, and Proud series, but we're still waiting to hear a definite word on prices.
-We may be getting Ember Swift again for the Out, Loud, and Proud series concert.
-For the Amateur Drag Contest on October 8th, the judging categories will be: Appearance, Performance, Attitude, and Overall. This will be based on 100 points. Miss Understood and Fanta-see Island will be judging the contest this year (Orgasmatron can no longer attend).
-We need people to help with decorating for the Amateur and Professional shows.
For the Amateur show, meet at Harriman Hall on South Campus around 5pm on October 8th.
For the Professional show, meet in the Student Union Lobby around 8am on October 10th.
-On Friday, October 11th, we will be having an informative tabling session outside the Student Union in celebration of the actual National Coming Out Day.
-We also need decoration help for the case in the Student Union.
-Those who wish to participate in the SA/C&C/LGBTA Carnival Date Auction on October 18th at 9:30am, should fill out an application (available in the Student Association office or in the LGBTA office) as soon as possible. The dates will be optional at the discretion of the two involved. MTV will also most likely be taping this event - it is meant to be a big thing.
-The LGBTA has been signed up for the SA Spirit Week events. Sign up sheets for the various events will be posted as we approach that week.
-Those individuals who wish to sign up to participate in GRASP seminars should make sure Rachel knows who you are in addition to signing your name on the sheet (to eliminate confusion).
-We are still looking for more people to get van tested. The requirements to get tested are: Be at least 20 years old and have a valid drivers license.
