Fall 2002 Meeting #4
~Meeting began at 8:05pm in 362 Student Union~
-The rules have been physically posted in the office.
-If anyone wants to read any of the old Meeting Minutes, they are available in the second drawer from the top in the filing cabinet in the office.
-National Coming Out Day is October 11th:
On October 7th, we have the display case in the Student Union reserved. We're still looking for ideas for our display. If anyone has any suggestions, please let an officer know as soon as possible.
On October 8th, we will have our Amateur Drag Contest at Harriman Hall on South Campus from 7pm to 10pm. We have the hall reserved from 5pm to 11pm, but we want to have everything well decorated, and done in advance. Food will be available during the show. If anyone has any experience with or good access to lighting sources, we could use a more elaborate system, as last year, there was something left to be desired.
On October 10th, in the Student Union Lobby and Theatre, we will have our big professional drag show. We have the area reserved from 9am to 4pm. We are looking for decorating ideas, and are planning to have informational organizations set up as tables around the stage during the show.
For October 11th and our speakers, etc, segment, we are looking for ideas to draw attention to our event.
-Partially depending on member support, we maybe be organizing a movie night, but this is mostly TBA as of this point.
-Except for the drawer second from the top, the file cabinet is off limits to members. Please do not go through it.
LGBTA Polo Shirts:
-We voted on color and fabric type for the shirts during the meeting. Black and a pique material were chosen.
-Cory is making a program for the Out, Loud, and Proud series. If we get enough people to put their advertisements in the program, the shirts will most likely be covered, and will be free to members.
-In the future, we still need to vote on an embroidery color.
-The phone in the office is for E-Board business use only, however, if you get permission from an E-board member, and drop 25 cents in the jar on the desk, you can make a local call from the phone.
-The cleaning rule was once again reemphasized. In addition to this, noone is allowed to eat at the desk at any time.
-The condoms, and safe sex materials in the office are intended to be available for those who actually need them. Please do not play with them unnecessarily. Also, the box that we used to have these things in was broken last week and we are looking for another clear container for them (they need to be visible).
-More condoms and such were ordered some time ago and will be coming in soon.
-Mansex: Meeting #1 will be held on September 27th from 7pm to 9pm.
-Sirens: Meeting #1 will be held on October 1st at 7pm.
Food will be available at both of these meetings, and prizes are usually given away once per meeting. At the end of the programs, shirts are usually given away as well.
-Thank you to everyone who came to and/or helped with GRASP last week.
-Rachel is going to take over GRASP, but is looking for an assistant of sorts. Please see her if you are interested.
-On Monday, September 30th, we will hold a GRASP meeting for the SA Staff at 5:15pm.
-We are looking for posters to decorate the office. If you have something that you think would be appropriate, see an E-board member. Please do not put anything up without getting permission from an E-board member first, however.
-Pictures, IE of members, or club related issues can also be put up, but please do not put up a picture that has someone else in it without first getting that person's permission.
-We will most likely soon be putting up a suggestion box in the office to allow anonymous or otherwise suggestions for club related issues. This is intended to be a serious thing, and members are asked not to put anything in as a joke.
-On a similar note, if you have any problems with the club that you would like to be heard on, you can see an E-board member, Lorenzo, or T.J..
-We are looking for people to get van tested so we can use the SA vans for events. The requirements are that you are at least 20 years old, and have a valid drivers license. This only takes about 15 minutes to do.
-Cory and Anthony's tour of Buffalo will most likely happen some time shortly after coming out week on a Saturday or Sunday. People who wish to attend are asked to bring money for food. The tour should not be more than 3 hours long.
-A girl named Annette is doing a photography project that in a nutshell, sort of mocks the Abercrombie image of manhood. For this, she is looking for two gay, attractive male volunteers to photograph (clothed). If you are interested in this, the photos would only be shown to her class, or if so desired, only to her professor.
