Meeting MinutesMarch 4, 2004

Meeting Start Time: 7:10pm

7:12Attendance and minutes were passed around.

7:13Election
- April 8th is the date of the office position elections.
- Nominations will be done 2 meetings before the April 8th.
- In order to be eligible to be nominated one had to attend 2 out of the 5 meetings prior, must be a voting member, and must be on academic good standing, at least a 2.0 GPA.
- The office positions’ descriptions are in the constitution on the club web site.
- NOTE: Officers’ names will be in publication.

7:15GRASP
- Sign up for the WS 213 GRASP is on the wall by the message board. It’s going to be from 12:30 – 1:50pm.
- Please put down your phone number or e-mail, preferably the one you check first.
- Panelists please see Rachel for responsibilities before the program.

7:17Diversity Committee
- They are having a forum with a panel of speaker on Gay Marriage on March 23rd.
- They are trying to have the forum to be fore Gay Marriage.
- Rachel will update us with the specifics of this event.

7:20Seth send out an e-mail to the list-serv with regards to call and give opinions on the Gay Marriage poll for legislative purposes.

7:22Gay Marriage Issues
- As a club we do not have a specific point of view on the Gay Marriage debate. We as a club respect everyone’s point of view and opinions.
- We have done Marriage for a Day and we are having the 1st couple to be married in Canada.
- We have done passive approaches to this issue. But if anyone wants to organize anything, feel free to do so on your own. Please contact the e-board so they are let the members know, so they can participate.

7:24Voters’ Registration
- We are close to receive community service with voters’ registration forms.
- Please register with us if you need to re-register, or if there’s an address change.

7:27Banquet
- Out Law is having a banquet on March 31st in Hyatt at 7pm.
- It’s going to be $15 per student.
- The theme this year will be Gay Marriage, and they are trying to get the Mayor of New Paults.

7:29Masquerade
- It will be on Thursday April 1st at 7pm in Harriman Hall on South Campus
- There will be a Best Mask/Costume contest for first, second, and third prizes. It will be $75, $50, and $25 respectively.
- Masks are a must during the dance until the time to unveil. The club might supply generic masks for anyone who doesn’t have a mask.
- $5 per student, and $10 for anyone else.
- Half of the profit will go to Aids Community Services.
- We are currently still determining a DJ.

7:33Men’s Discussion Group
- Christian has submitted a proposal for the Men’s Discussion Group.
- The Group will be run by Christian and Shaun.
- The first meeting will be on Friday. Please come to show your support.

7:35Social Events
- Thank you for coming to the first social event of the year which was Snow Tubing
- Next on the list is the Movie Monster. It’s about lesbian serial killers.
- We are planning to go see the showing on Tuesday 7:25pm in the theater across from South Campus.
- Sign up is on the wall, and it will be $5.50 per student.

7:40Art Show
- Opening for the Patricia Cronon show will be on March 26th. Please come and support the opening.
- It will consist of a reception before the show, the art show, then a reception after the show.
- The artist is giving us a free tour of the Woodlong cemetery on Saturday March 27th at 11am.
- We are responsible for P.R. work for the show. Please tell people about this, and show up to support.

7:48Advertising
- We need people to help us to flyer and to make the flyers. Please contact the e-board if you want to help.
- Thank you Matt C. for taking the responsibility for making the ad for Masquerade that will be published in Visions.

7:48COGS
- We are going to change the room for COGS starting on the 22nd.

7:59This Saturday Rachel is going to take the grey disk and all the clothes to donate them. If you have any old clothes please bring them by the office before Friday.

8:00Shout Out
- Thank you for improving on the things that the e-board has asked you to improve on. Please continue to do so.
- Thank you Matt C. for the GRASP pamphlets.
- Thank you to anyone who helped to organize the library.
- If you have an idea to help with the club, please go ahead and do so. But just update the e-board on you progress.

8:05Movie Night
- This week’s movie will be “101 Rent Boys’

Will and Grace episodes: 6
- Next week’s movie will be Will and Grace Episodes supplied by Seth.

8:09Christy’s Thank you card is hanging on the wall by the message board.

8:09Open Floor
- Undergrad Bio will have a General meeting on the 11th at 4:30pm in SU 330.
- There will be a Raffle going on for $25 certificate to Media Play from the Undergrad Bio club. $1/raffle.

8:12Fundraiser
- We need to fundraise a significant amount of money by April
- We are thinking of tabling at clubs for donations. Marcella’s, Underground, Buddies, etc.
- Raffle DVD Player, or bake sale.
