Meeting Minutes February 19, 2004Meeting Start Time: 7:06pm 7:06 Attendance and minutes were passed around7:07 Marriage for a Day - Thank you to all who came to help and support this event on Monday. It was a success in the sense that people got married, but unfortunately it wasn’t as successful as we would have hoped to be due Sub Board I not being able to supply us with the option of using Campus Cash on that day. - Psychology SA will get back to us as to how much profit was made.7:09 Snow Tubing - People who have not paid but would like to still go would have to pay the full $15. - Unlimited fun from 4-midnight. We would be back whenever everyone wants to go home. - Please meet at 2:30pm on Saturday in SU. - Wear layers.7:11 GRASP - Last chance for anyone who wants to be a GRASP panelist to sign-up for the 26th, and 27th program. - If you have signed-up and have not seen Rachel yet, please do so. - The general meeting on the 26th will be cancelled due to the GRASP program running at 7pm in SU 210. Please attend and show your support. - 27th program will be held in WS213 class, there will be no observers. Sorry7:13 Office - Please keep the office clean, by remembering to pick up after yourselves. - If you bring food, newspapers, or magazines in, please remember to bring them out with you when you leave the office.7:15 Fundraiser/Community Service - Can and Bottle Drive Please do not leave any bottles or cans that are not refundable in NY. - Clothing Drive Thank you to all who have brought clothes in. If you have any old clothes that you do not wear anymore, or out of season clothes, please bring them in.7:16 Library - Please let Shaun or Ryan know any suggestions on books or videos that you may have for improving our library. - If you borrow a book from the library, please sign it out, and remember to return it when you are done.7:18 Out Loud and Proud - Out biggest event in the Spring Semester. Basically making April Gay-pril. - Queer Eye for UB is in the contract stage. If you would like to help, please contact Kenny. - Masquerade At this point we are looking for a DJ, if you have any suggestions please contact the e-board. It will be held on April 1st, and it will be a split fundraiser with Aides and Community Services. You don’t have to dress up, but you must wear a mask when you attend. - Concert We are looking into price quote for Melissa Ferrick - Poetry Corner The floor was opened to the suggestion of keeping it on campus or to include the community in. - Speaker We are bringing in the first gay married couple in Canada. Special thanks to Ralph. They are willing to waiver their speaker fee, and have us pay for their accommodations and transportation fees. - Day of Silences It’s a National movement. There will be an eight hours of silence, from 9 –5pm, for victims of hate crimes, people who are not out yet, etc. We will have an informational table set up the week before. We are going to have shirts and armbands for that day, as well as the cards. There will be a sign-up on the wall for people who want a shirt, and please put down your sized also. The shirt will be like last year’s design, expect where last year’s was green, this year will be purple. - Our Current budget is approximately $6,000. But most of the money will be going into the Out Loud and Proud series.7:26 Tabling - We will be tabling on Tuesday March 9th with Health and Human Services.7:31 Sirens - There was no information from anyone on replacements for Siren’s.
