As the newest division this year, CanSat has opened a new door into a world of complex systems and programming. CanSat stands for, “Can Satellite;” so in essence a team designs and builds a miniature satellite out of a can that fits the criteria of that year competition. The can is only 2.6 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall so there is not much room to work with.
During the Fall semester ideas are thrown around and the initial design begins to emerge. As the semester comes to an end the design is nearly complete allowing a written proposal to be composed.
The CanSat is analyzed from top to bottom, every aspect and design feature critically reviewed to optimize its performance. This projects involves everything from designing, to machining, to programming. Come and help us out!!!
