SPC Archives in Portable Document Format

Alongside its electronic manifestations, the SPC intends to maintain a commitment to various forms of print publication. As these are often fugitive photocopy editions whose distribution never exceeds the rather narrow orbit of a sing le editor's personal mailing list, it seems appropriate to use this web space as a means to increase at least the possibility of their distribution. The documents linked from this page are coded in print-ready Portable Document Format, an electronic forma t supported by Adobe's Acrobat software. The reader component of this software is available for free download at Adobe's website.

While we at the SPC feel that such a proprietary format is not the best choice for online publication, it does present an acceptable compromise for the various problems we face in archiving and distributing our work on paper. The d ocuments linked from this page are presented in a format as close to that of their original print publication as possible. We encourage readers, especially those with personal or (loosely monitored) professional access to a laser printer, to download and print as many copies of these publications as they can distribute or otherwise use. Be warned: some of the larger, more graphics-intensive publications offered here might take as much as 30 minutes to load on a 28.8 modem.
