Mouse and mouse and duck and duck arrived at the boat just as the rains began spattering the dust, just as the lightning began exploding into city squares, into houses, onto tables, into the open mouths of men and women who had just sat down to dinner, or, having just dined, were reclining, voluptuously, on long low  benches, their eyes half-open, or, with their eyes half-open, were moving, voluptuously, towards each other, across deeply lit rooms.
