The meeting began at 12:00 noon.
Based on the expenses from the SGSA sponsored conference, the SGSA's contribution to the conference was revised. SGSA allocated $100.00 for the conference.
A new transcriber was purchased by SGSA for SGSA students. Diane will be providing details in the near future on how the machine will be allocated for student use.
Next Wednesday, April 21, there will be a job professional seminar. The presentation will take place in the Sociology Lounge and begin at 12:00 noon. The SGSA voted to allocate $50.00 for the purchase of lunch.
Officer elections will take place from April 26 through April 30th. Ballots will be placed in peoples boxes with names of persons running for each office. A ballot box will be located in Kelly Creans' office. Please vote.
A date was chosen for the end of the year SGSA picnic. We will get together on May 18th, with the rain date being the 19th. Diane is looking into Ellicott Creek Park for the social. More information will follow in the near future.
SGSA voted to allocate $100.00 for the SGSA picnic to be held on May 18th. People will also be invited to bring a dish to pass.
Dee has asked that each member of SGSA look at a list of books and videos that has been placed in their box, and check those books that they would like to see the SGSA purchase for the sociology library. Books will be ranked by the number of votes it gets , and then purchased in that order until the remaining SGSA funds have been used.
