enter a Psychology topic that you are interested in on the Keyword line ("adhd" in the example pictured here")

These options are most likely to retrieve articles appropriate for your paper:

Click on the "Perform Search" button.


3. The database returns a page list of results - look for an interesting article and verify that it was published in the past 6 months. The date of publication is the last entry for each article listed. Find an article you are interested in and select "Ovid Full Text" to see the article.






4. After getting the full text, check that the paper is an emprical paper - that it has Methods and Results for instance - as opposed to being a Review paper or Commentary with no data.








5. If the article meets the requirements for the paper, and if it looks interesting to you, print out the abstract and first page - you'll need to hand this in with your written research summary.
