The
State University of New York at Buffalo Integrated Surgical
Residency Program provides a fully accredited five-year program
in surgery that utilizes six hospitals of the Graduate Medical
and Dental Education Consortium of Buffalo. The Graduate Medical
and Dental Education Consortium of Buffalo is the sponsoring
agency for all graduate-training programs at the State University
of New York at Buffalo and its affiliated hospitals.
We are accepting applications only through ERAS (Electronic
Residency Application Service) beginning in August 2002 for
the academic year 2002-2003. The deadline for submission is
November 1st. Our interview season runs from mid-November
through mid-January. We hold 6 interview sessions during that
time period.

Programming
GRAND
ROUNDS
Grand
Rounds are offered on Thursday mornings from 6:45 to 7:45
am in Butler Auditorium on the South Campus of the University
from September through May. They consist of formal presentations
by the PGY-5 residents, case presentations by the PGY-3
residents with a faculty advisor, and formal presentations
by fellows, faculty members, and guest lecturers.
In
addition to Grand Rounds, residents attend General Surgery,
Vascular Surgery and Trauma conferences, and participate
in educational programming. The PGY-4's and 5's attend
the Chiefs' Conference with the Program Director and a
Core Curriculum Conference, PGY-1's and PGY-2's attend
the Basic Science Seminar Series, PGY-3's attend the Advanced
Surgical Techniques Conference.
