Application

Applicants to the Masters Programs should complete the online application Once completed your application will be forwarded to the department or program(s) that you indicate in the application form. Note: There is a separate online application for Biotechnology and Clinical Laboratory Science.

The offical supplemental information that is listed below should be sent directly to the department that you are applying to, go to the resources page for a list of contacts and addresses.

  • Official Transcript(s) from every institution previously attended.
  • Official GRE Score Report ( Institutions Code: R 2925, Department Code: 0699)
  • Three ( 3 ) Letters of Recommendation
  • A personal letter stating career objectives and research experience. Research experience is highly desirable.
  • An application fee of $50 should be submitted by check (payable to "University at Buffalo, SUNY") or may be paid online.
  • International applicants must also present:
    • Official TOEFL score (Institution Code: R2925 -- SUNY-University at Buffalo, Department Code -- 45)
      * TOEFL SCORES dated prior to August 1, 2004 cannot be accepted for Fall 2006 applications. It is University policy that TOEFL score reports be no older than two years when entering a program.

Eligibility

Candidates are admitted to the Masters Programs based upon their grade point average, examination scores, letters of recommendation and academic performance and research experience. Applicants will have completed the Bachelor's degree (with a B [3.0] average) prior to admission. Recommended undergraduate courses include general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physiology, physics and mathematics including calculus and statistics.

An online application to Biomedical Sciences Masters Programs should be completed and the fee of $50 should be submitted either online or by check payable to University at Buffalo. Applications should be filed no later than March 15 th. The Admissions Committee of the department/program that you selected will review your complete application. You will be contacted directly by them.
