Facilities
The
School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is ranked
in the top quartile of the Association of American Medical
Colleges for extramural support with over $92 million
in funding. The School ranks 8th out of 125 AAMC Medical
Schools in the nation on the basis of research dollars
per basic science faculty. The
Center for Computation Research(CCR) is among
the top ten academic supercomputing facilities in the
country. Available core research facilities include:

Individual laboratories contain necessary state-of-the
art equipment for molecular, genetic, biochemical, cellular,
electrophysiological or behavioral studies. The University
Library system is ranked among the top 50 academic collections
in North America. The
Health Science Library, which is convenient
to the School of Medicine and Biomedical Science, and
the Science and Engineering Library, which is on the
North Campus, have extensive journal and book holdings.
Students have computer access to bibliographic databases,
full-text electronic journals, manuals and textbooks,
drug information resources as well as communication
tools such as e-mail. Direct access to the computer
network is available on-site at the libraries or through
offices and laboratories as well as remote access from
home.
