POLITY is the University at Buffalo School of Medicine's Student Government.
Our main goal is to provide for the betterment of student life within the Medical School Community. We attempt to accomplish this by catering to the needs of the students whether they be academic, social, or emotional.
We do this by:

[1]  Promoting more efficient communication within the School of Medicine by acting as liaisons between medical students and the faculty, staff, and administration of UB Med.
[2]  Actively participating in the policy making decisions of the School of Medicine
[3]  Being responsible for the disbursement of funds mainly received through students' activity fees to the 30+ clubs and organizations.
[4]  Establish criteria for, and provide recognition to student
organizations within the school of medicine
[5]  Coordinate other groups or committees, which represent the medical student body as a whole

Polity created By-Laws in the spring of 2004 to -provide a framework and guidance for Polity leadership, both present and future. The By-Laws contain detailed information on the procedures for conducting various aspects of Polity business. Other policy documents and forms can be found in the Polity Documents section.
