The admission process begins June 1, and our application deadline is November 1st. The target date (AAMC) for final class selection nationally is March 15. During the intervening period the Admissions Committee reviews and makes its decision on approximately 2,000 applications.

Interviews

A personal interview is a prerequisite to admission and is the final stage of the admissions process. Interview invitations are solely within the prerogative of the Admissions Committee and are issued only after a thorough review of the application by the Committee. The Committee invites 400-500 candidates for interview annually.

M.D/Ph.D Applicants
Students applying to the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) should follow the standard procedure for the AMCAS application to the Medical School, indicating their intent to apply to the Medical Degree/Ph.D. program. The Office of Research and Biomedical Education will contact the student when we receive their hard-copy AMCAS report

Committee Decisions

Interviews are conducted from September through February. The first group of acceptances are issued in mid-October. Thereafter, committee decisions are forwarded to applicants every eight weeks. Applicants not invited for interview are notified as soon as possible after the review of their application has been completed.Applicants are requested to respond within two weeks from the date of acceptance and also must submit a $100 acceptance deposit (refundable until May 1). Accepted students are required to have completed all of the premedical course requirements prior to matriculation. The Admissions Committee will consider requests for deferred admission under special circumstances. Such circumstances should be fully described in a formal written petition to the committee.
