HCIA SERVICES

HCIA members receive a wealth of networking and educational opportunities.  These include bi-monthly visits and tours of companies engaged in the business of health care device and product design, development and manufacture.  In addition we present a number of programs at a reduced cost to our members.  These include FDA regulatory meetings with speakers from the FDA in Washington, D.C. and New York City.  HCIA has also provided an Internet search and training session with individual and hands on training for each participant.

Here are examples of training programs provided that could benefit organizations:

  • Achieving Stellar Customer Service
  • Cornell University’s Understanding the Principles of Project Management
  •   Managing Stress & Conflict in the Workplace
  • Maximizing Internet “Search” Techniques for Optimal Productivity

Many of our programs are not “health care” specific; they provide basic human resource training opportunities, which are a relevant investment for anyone in the workplace.  Here are some savings realized by companies participating in HCIA training programs:

Company Total Company Savings with HCIA Member Discount over a one year period
Cognigen Corporation $3,336.00
Gaymar Industries $17,265.00
Great Lakes Orthodontics $10,040.00
Harmac Medical Products $2,384.00
Ivoclar Vivadent $1,760.00
Reichert Opthalmic Products $616.00

In addition, Health Care Industries Association co-sponsored a seven part life science/technology series with BuffLink.  We estimate over 700 people attended.  HCIA members not only received significant costs savings but also were afforded the opportunity to meet, network and exchange critical business information with a wide range of people interested in this particular growth industry.

The mission of the Health Care Industries Association is to help ensure the success and retention of the existing health care companies and institutions in our region, foster the growth of new startup companies, and create an environment and an infrastructure that will attract other health care/life science industries to our region.
