The Primary Care Research Forum is offered jointly by the Departments
of Family Medicine, General
Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Social
and Preventive Medicine to encourage scholarship and research in
primary health care, health care delivery and medical education.
These sessions provide a forum for interdisciplinary collegial support
and interaction to foster research productivity, address problems
and brainstorm solutions. Formats include presentations of findings
from completed research, theoretical and methodological issues, or
budding ideas for a research project, grant or manuscript in need
of nurturing (a.k.a. “balloon sessions”).
Each session also has specific learning objectives with respect to
medical teaching, scholarship, academic career management and clinical
practice to improve care for patients in underserved populations.
The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and Biomedical
Sciences
is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education
to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
