American
Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
Students may apply for
student membership with the American Academy of Family Physicians
(AAFP). Some membership benefits include:
- American Family Physician – free
journal to student members
- Local support from
your constituent chapter - the chapters have direct contact with
medical students. Many constituent chapters also offer financial
support to medical students in the form of membership dues payment,
scholarships, and grants. In addition, some chapters offer summer
mentoring programs, community volunteer opportunities and have
finances available for student organizations on each medical
school campus to use. Many medical student members hold office
on state and local boards and represent the voice of their peers.
