BIAcore X

The BIAcore X is located in Room 664 in the Biomedical Research Building. Use of the BIAcore can be arranged by contacting Dr. Mark Sutton (829-3581, mdsutton@buffalo.edu). Due to the need to optimize ligand capture and chip surface regeneration, as well as analysis of the data, it is imperative that interested users get trained on the instrument. Please contact Dr. Mark Sutton to discuss training possibilities.

User Fees

BIAcore X users are charged based on usage time. Time may be reserved in blocks of one-week periods. Users performing their own analyses are charged a fee of $300 per week. This fee is intended to cover the costs associated with instrument maintenance and service contracts. Non-funded investigators should consult with the lab director regarding limited non-fee access. Users are responsible for purchasing biosensor chips and any other specialized reagents necessary for their particular experiments. Use of certain commonly used solutions may be included as part of the weekly user fee. Users are encouraged to confirm with the lab director which solutions are currently available when making a reservation.

A login book for scheduling instrument use can be found in Room 664 Biomedical Research Building. All users are expected to schedule their time in advance, and to sign in and out for use. PIs will be billed for group usage on a monthly basis.
