Microarray
and Genomics Core
The DNA Microarray and Genomics Facility
will afford RPCI investigators a full spectrum of services
for parallel analyses of genomes and their expression. Applications
of this technology include Comparative Genomic Hybridization
(CGH), and global gene expression profiling. Variations of
these applications can be utilized to: detect and map chromosomal
aberrations, profile gene expression patterns in tumors, identifying
differences between two populations of DNA or RNA (ie. transfected
vs. untransfected cell populations), determine the effect
of therapeutic agents on gene expression, and determine the
effect of genetic alterations on gene expression patterns
in transgenic and knockout mice. The facility also maintains
and provides a screening and clone characterization service
for nine large insert genomic BAC & PAC libraries for
human, mouse, rat, and S. Pombe as a resource for RPCI investigators.
