2006 Resident and Fellow
Access to Healthcare Essay Contest
Winning Entries now posted
Residents and fellows have intriguing and poignant stories to tell. They recognize the struggles many of their patients face to receive affordable, quality healthcare.
Residents were asked to share an experience they've encountered: a patient or family that has personified the troubling lack of access to healthcare here in the United States. Why has there not been more progress toward the elimination of this problem in the United States? What should be done to fix it?
We hope that, after reflecting on the people you've treated and the problems they've faced, you will be inspired to think critically about the topic of access to healthcare, engage in research or scholarship in this area, and actively participate in a solution.
