Educational Activites - Scholarly Exchange Day
GME Scholarly Exchange Day is an annual research poster session for residents, fellows and faculty educational researchers that is presented in partnership with the UB Medical Alumni Association’s Spring Clinical Day. This interactive, interdisciplinary day showcases UB research and provides participants with experience in poster presentation, as well as the opportunity to interact with other UB researchers and UB Medical Alumni. A major component of the day is the structured feedback participants receive on their work from UB research faculty. Another highlight is the annual keynote address by a senior faculty member on "Research Lessons Learned: Sustaining the Momentum", where career advice and personal stories are passed along to the next generation of medical researchers. The online application for poster submission is available on the GME website in late winter. Awards are presented to the participants who earn exceptional scores on their poster presentations.
The 14th Annual GME Scholarly Exchange Day was held at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Dr. Paresh Dandona, UB Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology presented the keynote address. 55 residents, fellows and faculty researchers representing 22 of our residency and fellowship programs presented research posters, comprising the largest group in the history of the event! 12 UB faculty researchers representing 10 programs served as facilitators for Scholarly Exchange Day, leading small poster discussion groups and lending their feedback on the posters presented.

Without their time and dedication to improving resident research, this event would not have been possible.
