Assignment and Digital Dropbox Tool Features
The Assignment and Digital Dropbox tools enable instructors and students to exchange documents. These tools do not allow students to share their submissions with each other. If this is a feature you need, consider Group File Exchange or discussion forum attachments.
Assignment tool
The Assignment tool is a file exchange tool with other properties, such as the automatic entry into the Grade Center. The Assignment tool is available in any of the Content Areas. When you add an Assignment, a Grade Center entry is automatically created. Within the Grade Center entry, instructors view and respond to students' assignment submissions.
Assignment tool properties:- Faculty have to initiate the process for students to submit through the Assignment tool.
- Assignment description and requirements are integrated with the tool that students use to submit work.
- Students' submissions are integrated with the Grade Center tool.
- Instructors can quickly discern which students have submitted work and which have not.
- Students can attach a file or submit text via the comment field.
- In order for students to resubmit an assignment, instructors need to select Clear Attempt in the Grade Center.
Digital Dropbox
The Digital Dropbox is just a file exchange. It offers a way for students to submit files to instructors or for instructors to send files to selected students. Instructor access to the Digital Dropbox is located in the Control Panel.
Digital Dropbox properties:- Faculty do not have to initiate the process for students to submit through the Dropbox.
- The Dropbox allows for multiple submissions, without the need for instructors to clear previous submissions.
