WebEx Overview:
WebEx Communications provides on-demand web conferencing for online meetings, seminars and collaboration.
At UB we license the meeting center web conferencing software, which allows users to tap the power of the internet to hold meetings with people across town and around the world without leaving your office. Users may share documents, make presentations and collaborate with invited attendees including sharing video.
UB WebEx service:
Upon request users are given one 'Host' account to schedule meetings with remote attendees. WebEx can trigger alerts to attendees via email with the meeting date, time and software requirements to participate. Audio capability is provided through Voice over IP (VoIP) or a dial-in phone bridge. VoIP is built into the WebEx software and requires appropriate equipment for each user (microphone, speakers or headphones). The phone bridge must be ordered ahead of time and requires all users to have a phone. Web cams of up to six participants can be shared at any one time.
Training is offered by request, however, the meeting software is intuitive and easy to use.
Charges:
$25.00 per hour of scheduled meeting time.
We will check the logs after the fact and charge based on connection time, testing and trial run connections will not be charged.
Usage for registration based courses will not be charged.
Dial-in Audio Bridge Charges:
$25/hour for 6 connections
$50/hour for 7 - 25 connections
