Toronto 2007On November 9th and 10th of 2007, thirteen OACers headed to Canada for a weekend of climbing and enjoying beautiful downtown Toronto. The first destination was the Global Village Backpackers' Hostel . It's always a nice place to stay, and with accomodating staff and good group rates, it was a no-brainer. Friday's dinner consisted of the usual OAC fare, pasta with red sauce and bread (good cooks are encouraged to join next semester), after which everyone headed out for a night on the town, including karaoke at a local venue. The real reason for the trip, of course, was the spectacular indoor climbing at Rock Oasis that would happen on Saturday morning. New climbers were given lessons by trained staff, while experienced climbers needed only to pass a belay test before hitting the walls. Everyone had a blast for a few hours and I'm sure some of the newbies were sore that night. All in all, it was another awesome OAC outing.
