Florida Spring Break 2009!

In 2009, the OAC went boldly where no OAC'er had ever been. We left Buffalo during a rainstorm and drove to Little Talbot Island State Park outside Jacksonville, uncharted water to the OAC. With it's pristine white beach 5 miles long, plentiful sun, and some creature comforts(new this year), it's a place I'm sure we'll return to next year. For 6 days we biked, hiked, and soaked up the sun. OAC pastimes like Charades, shoulders, and sunburns were had all around, with Euchre and and a BBQ thrown in there to keep things fresh. After 6 days on the beach, we drove to Falling Waters state park, home of Florida's highest waterfall. While it's no Niagara Falls, there were some cool sinkholes, and you could really get close to everything. Wrapping things up in Florida is never fun, but we all did a chilly Snorkeling/Dolphin watch on rough seas as a finale. After that it was everybody back into the crowded vans for the trip back to Buffalo.
