Rafting the Black River in WatertownA group of 24 club members went to Watertown to raft the black river with the new guides of the B.O.B. Rafting Company. Friday night was spent setting up camp in a soggy campsite. Naturally, it was spent playing a rousing game of charades and a confusingly sucessful game of shoulders. Hotdogs were enjoyed by all, and we learned that tomato sauce is about the same as ketchup. Saturday kicked off with some extra soggy oatmeal or deliciously cold poptarts. It was a frigid early October morning, and few of us were happy to leave the warmth of the tent. The rafting was especially good for this time of year on the Black, and was at a high class 3 or 4, very rare for the time of year. Thank god for wetsuits too because the water was a balmy 45 degrees. The kind folks at BOB rafting had a great buffet lunch for us hungry and tired adventurers afterwards as we went back and packed up the site and ventured back to Buffalo.
