minutes- 11/4
-some LGBA mail stuff---there will be a workshop
entitled "What If You or Someone You Love Is Gay,
Lesbian or Bisexual?" There is also an upcoming
Student Rights Lecture and Student Leadership
seminar. They all sound pretty cool. We should
definitely check it out. Fliers are hanging up in the
office about them, and it says you have to register
to attend. so do it!
-the Filipino American Student Association asked us
for a co-sponsorship. It was voted down for lack of
funds. Their event, however, sounds pretty
cool-- a "Barrio Fiesta". Lisa suggested that
maybe we could help them out a different way, which
will make us look very tasty in SA's eyes. for
more information about this event and what we can do
to help, see liz or lisa.
-November 9th, @ the Unitarian Universalist church on
Elmwood, Kevin Jennings of the Empie State Pride
Agenda will be talking about trying to pass
anti-discrimination laws for teachers in public schools
in the area.
-we recieved an offer from the Buffalo Sabres
[hockey, for those of you that don't know],
to have an "LGBA Sabres' Nite", which basically
means that if we get 20 people or
more together, we get a sweet discount on a game
and have our name on the JumboTron
and all that stuff. Interest was expressed in doing this
and possibly attending the Sabres/Rangers
game, which is upcoming. for more details, see liz.
this project will probably end up falling into the hands
of troy, seeing as how he is THE biggest gay male
hockey fan in the known universe. whoops, was i
stereotyping? : )
-as an SA club, LGBA has to attend a certain amount
of SA sponsored events each semester.
the rule is that we have to have 5 people at 3 events.
since kim is on the basketball team, interest was
expressed in having her games count as such. if you
are at all interested in attending any of the women's
basketball games, see lisa.
-the oft-spoken-of UB queer newsletter has been
postponed until next semester. we'll work it out
then. boom boom kitty.
-tomorrow @ 5 pm there is a MANDATORY
conference committee meeting. if you can't go, you
must let liz know ASAP. if you don't show, the deal is
you're outta' 'da committee. be there or be
NOTHIN'.
-on a happier, brighter note, there is a UB queer
potluck at liz's house tomorrow night. some other
queer UB groups may be present, so be smiley
and make new friends. her address is 161 west
winspear, it's the upper apt. her number is 803.1685.
bring food, alchohol as you will, have fun. if you're
not there, you're still on the committee, though. : )
-there is a GRASP meeting on monday @ 7pm.
there will be free food, apparently. i'll also be there,
for another selling point.
-the GlamSlam--tell your friends. tell your family.
tell homeless crack addicts on the street, we
don't care. just as long as they're gay-friendly and
they'll go, we're all about it.

event, just talk to me or liz.
so that's that. we've got a table in the union
tomorrow, from 9-4, so stop by and visit, or
table with us.
