Meeting MinutesSeptember 18, 2003 7:02 -Candice Faulring, the Buffalo coordinator of the Dennis Kucinich presidential campaign stopped by to see if anyone is interested in volunteering for the campaign. -She described Kucinich as the "only candidate supporting gay marriage," and went on to point out that, "[Howard] Dean wasn't the person who headed the initiative in Vermont?he just followed others." -She is looking for people interested starting a UB Political Progressive Caucus, and emphasized that the camping is very grassroots and that volunteers and support form individuals is essential, and greatly needed. -Just a reminder registering to vote before October 10th, is important to those who wish to be eligible to vote in the upcoming primaries. -Please contact Candice directly at her email CSFaulring@cs.com if you are interested in either the caucus or volunteering, and look for more information from her as we near the primary season. 7:06Listserv - (Rachel) -People interested in the listeserv should contact Rachel; she is the clubs administrator and would be glad to add you. -An email will be going out posting the rules for the listserv. -Basically, postings need to have accurate subject lines that describe their content. The email will describe proper labels. If you have any questions regarding specific emails, please send them to e-board and/or Rachel directly and they/she will help make sure that things are in properly formatted. -Actions will be taken against those who continually refuse to subscribe to the rules, including removal from the listserv. 7:11 -The e board after reviewing the names submitted during last weeks meeting, announced the appointees of our SISH Representative, Presidential Proxy and Alternate Representative. Congratulations to the appointees. 7:13 -ManSex will start next Friday September 26th. -The program is really fun, and informative we hope to see all of the boys out next week. -COSG will be meeting on Wednesdays starting next week September 24th. 7:15 -The minuets were pass around for review by the members. -The filing cabinet and desk are for club officers only. Members should not be going through them, the e board kindly asks for your respect of the confidentiality of our records. -Minutes were approved at 7:22 7:20Coming Out Week -Jim Bowman is contacting people to donate toward our program and to come table during the professional show on October 8th. He will need some generous individuals to help with some of the leg work. If you have time available between classes and a car please see Jim to volunteer. -SA, Graduate German SA and Outlaw will be co-sponsoring the movie Paragraph 175 on Thursday October 9th -The LGBTA is considering sponsoring our own movie during coming out week; Shaun Hopel opened the floor for recommendations. Titles proposed were Get Real, But I'm A Cheerleader, and Broken Hearts Club. A majority seemed to like But I'm a Cheerleader, the e board wasn't sure if getting the movie was feasible, but will be looking into it further. -There will also be a Queer Art Show running the week of October 6th. If you would like to submit anything or need information, please see messages posted to the Listserv in regards to this matter. 7:25R+J -A group will be going on Saturday. September 27 at 8pm, if you are interested please see Shaun Hopel by Thursday September 23. There will be car pools going details will be worked out at a later point in time. 7:30Drag Shows -October 6th will be the Amateur show at 8:30 pm in the SU Theater. -Anyone interested in going should sign up on the sheets in the office. Music and a short bio of your drag persona should be turned by September 30th. -We also need people to run lights, to act as ushers and with decoration clean up after the show. -Anthony will be acting as our Coming Out Week Coordinator, he will be helping with the program, and the set up for the professional show on October. 8th, he is looking for helpers; those interested should sign up in the office, and plan to show up around 8am on October 8th. -We are also still interested in getting submissions for things that people are interested in seeing appear in our slid show that will be running throughout the day on October 8th. Please send submissions and ideas to the e-board. 7:40 -Interest was expressed toward forming a Lesbian support group to meet throughout the fall, those interested in attending met after the meeting, to discuss when might be a good time and place to meet.
