We are inviting Queens from both Buffalo and Rochester, its going to be really exciting please come and bring your friends. -On October 8th we will also have tables set up for local LGBT organizations; they will be set up from 10am-4pm. Jim Bowman is recruiting groups to come and table, if you have any suggestions direct them toward him or e-board. -In addition to tabling we are also trying to get groups to buy space in our program. Spaces are $35 for ¼ of a page, $50 for ½, and $75 for a full page ad. -If you find yourself with a lot of free time please see if there's anything you can do to help, the more ads we get the less the programs will cost the club. -We will also be looking for eager persons with previous experience with layout and access to appropriate software to work on the program.-Throughout the day on October 8th we are also planning to run a slide show, similar to the movie trivia that runs in movie theaters while you wait for movies, so we need to find facts, quotes and positive LGBT messages to add to the slide show. -SA will also be running a free gay movie in the SU theater entitled paragraph 157 on Thursday October 9th.7:24 -The Buffalo United Artists (BUA) are running a remake of William Shakespeare's Play Romeo and Juliet, entitled R+J. Is any one interested in going? If we get a group interested in going we might be able to get a discount. Please see the sign up sheet that will be in the office following the meeting.7:26 -Does anyone want to go on field trips? Well we need to have drivers available to do that, to accommodate this we need to have people that are approved to drive SA vans. Its really easy all you need is to be at least 20 years old and have a valid NYS license. Do you fit these criteria? If so then see an e-board on how to get signed up to get van tested.7:28 -Tonya the Club Services director is looking for people to work concession at Fall Fest tomorrow, if we get at least 4 people we can get 12.5 % of what is brought in. Interested people please sign up with e-board after the meeting.7:30 -The list serve has be abused recently. -It has become necessary to set up some rules of operation, that limit abuses, and yet preserve the integrity of the Listserv as an uncensored forum. -The e board is going to be meeting to discuss in depth what should be done to address the problems, and will be announcing at the next meeting what they have come up with. -Until that point they would like to remind members that personal attacks are not appropriate, and that it is the e-boards job to police the listserv and that all and any questions, issues, concerns, and complaints should be directed to the e-board directly at their personal e-mails or to the LGBTA email at: ub_lgbta@hotmail.com. -Please be courteous to others, as we are all adults. -Any impute on the issue is welcomed by the e-board and Lorenzo Guzman. (i.e. It was proposed that a new abbreviation be formed for political postings.) -People can be removed from the list serve; however, the e-board would like to reserve that as only a last resort, and really doesn't want to have police the listserv.7:37 Announcements -Tim Kelly is running for SA assembly and would like the support of all commuter students in the SA upcoming elections. -The College Republicans (357 Student Union) are forming a log cabin caucus and are extending a welcome to all interested people. Please direct questions and inquires to their president at his email ajroyce@buffalo.edu.Meeting end: 7:39pm |
