Meeting Minutes  February 27, 2003Meeting Start time: 8:15 New Secretary: -TJ has stepped down due to personal reasons.-We have two people interested Shaun Hopel and Patrick Clemons
-Both of the people make statements to the club. Both are interested in further involved and taking on duties. Shaun is our current SISH representative.-E-board decides to have both take minutes for comparison and decision at end to the meeting.Fund Raising (Rachel): -We want to do some tabling at clubs. We will be meeting in the next couple of days. See Rachel after the meeting to sign up and please leave your contact info for Friday.-Proceeds will be going to the Banquet and Day of Silence.-Chocolate/scratch- we are waiting to see if we have enough money.-DVD player left over from the date auction is going to be raffled off. There will be a $1.00 a piece, please see Ed if you’re interested in sell some.-There will be 75 tickets initially with others available based on need and will be within next week.GRASP (Rachel): -Thank you to those who came or were on the panel.-Turned out to be only one class in the on Wednesday. 26 so another GRASP has been scheduled for March 26 at 10am.-Another will be tomorrow Feb. 28 according to last weeks announcements.-The GRASP over break is going to be changed in order to get a full panel.Desk/Telephone (Cory): -People sitting at the desk during the day is fine. However, we have had some things come up missing, phone usage, and people getting in the way when e-board is trying to do stuff.-We would like to just make a general request for courtesy.-Phone calls are charged to club by the minute local or on campus.-We also would like to try to keep the line open for business as that is its primary purpose.Banquet (Cory): -Tickets will hopefully be available starting next week.-There will actually be 5 tickets to be given out to members to be announced by Cory.-The topic of the banquet will be SONDA.-Speakers will be Camille Hopkins, Antoine Thompson and Byron Brown.-There will be door prizes including a chance to win free dry cleaning.-We are looking for a new COSG coordinator, anyone who is interested please contact Rachel. -Elections for next years E-board are coming up in April. There will be multiple weeks for nominations to be made. Voting members that is those who have attended two of the last five meetings will be notified. There is still time for those who are interested in voting to start attending meetings. -We are still trying to organize a visit to Fredonia, their meetings are on Tuesdays at 10pm. We will send notice over the listserv in regards to next weeks movie night and possible trip. -Anyone who is still would like to be added to the listserv and hasn’t been please talk to Rachel. Those who had given their names have been added, if you still are not receiving emails there could be an error in the address or mail service. Bring these problems to our attention and we’ll try to see what we can do to correct them. -Tim wins the raffle for the week. -5 min break for the e-board to review minutes of Shaun and Patrick and make decision. The new secretary is Patrick Clemons. -Latin American SA has will be accepting submissions to help them with a section in their news letter dealing with gay issues.
