Meeting Minutes

Minutes: 01/30/02

Minutes by Susan Van Cott

-There is a new E-board following last week's resignations. Lorenzo Guzman is now the president, Ed Wolfe remains the vice president, Cory Hill is the treasurer, and TJ Reinheart is the secretary.
- There will be a GRASP on Friday from 10:30-11:50 in 109 Baldy (a Women in Contemporary Society class). Email smmosley@acsu.buffalo.edu if you are interested in attending.
- Look MWF for our ad in the Spectrum.
- There will be a dance in Harriman hall on Tuesday, March 19 from 9:00 - midnight.
- Reminder: if you wish to use the telephone in the office without asking, please drop a quarter in the jar.
- The LGBTA is currently participating in Penny Wars. The large blue jug in the office needs to be filled by friday at noon. We are competing against other clubs, so bring in all the pennies you can; if we win, whatever money we raise will be matched by SA!
- We are hoping to create a Distinguished Speaker Series, and are currently trying to get Leslie Feinburg and Rebecca Walker.
- Another reminder: Please leave your drama at the door!
- April 10 is official National Day of Silence. Every club member will get a free ringer t-shirt if they wish to be involved, and we have 200 shirts to sell to the public. A note will be sent out to the listserv when the shirts are in. They will need to be signed out so we can keep track of who has shirts.
- If you have any ideas for next semester, email Lorenzo at lcguzman@acsu.buffalo.edu by Friday at 7:00. This is when he will be defending the budget for next year, so anything proposed after then is much less likely to happen.
- Election nominations begin in two weeks. You must attend two of the five prior meetings to be able to run or vote.
- Next week we will be discussing whether there is a need for GLBT special interest housing on campus.
- The office will be closed on Friday for remodeling.
I hope to see you all at next week's meeting on March 6.
