Minutes: 01/25/01

We had a good first meeting of the semester! Thanks to
everyone who made it. For those of you who couldn't
make it, here's what went on...these are kinda long,
so good for you if you can make it all the way
through!!!
~We're spending $700 on books and we got the books
today! They'll be in the office soon, and there are a
lot of good ones, so check them out!!
~$1,000 was donated by alumni Rick Landman.So if you
want to thank him get in touch with Amy for his
email.
~The first Man Sex meeting is this Tues. Jan 30 at
8-9:30pm in the office (362 Student Union) A list of
discussion topics are on the table in the office.
~We're trying to get Pearls together WE NEED YOUR
HELP!! If you're interested in helping with the
planning process, let Amy know!!
AMY'S BRAIN FART!!!
~We need to do community service. Here's some ideas we
tossed around: GLYS, AIDS run, Habitat for Humanity,
and ACS has an informal volunteer thingy every monday
from 5-9. They're on Chipewa and Elmwood.
~Nat'l Day of Silence is April 4th (the day before my
birthday!!!) We want to get other clubs involved, so
if you're in any other clubs, mention it to them!We
want to make this as big as possible!! So far Phil,
John, and Rachelle have volunteered to help with the
planning.
~The Environmental Network is putting on a film series
called "Cultural Kamakaze". It's every Thursday and
it'll be going on all semester. The calandar is posted
in the office so you can check out what's playing!
April 5: Pricilla Queen of the Desert and The Life and
Times of Harvey Milk. There are a lot of other really
cool films being played, so check it out!!
~COSG is up and running. The first meeting is right
before mansex this tues. jan 30 at 6:15 in the office.
~The Buff State LGBA needs our help, cuz they have no
$$. we'll be in touch with them to start planning an
event that we'd cosponser w/ them to help them get
going.
~We want to rewrite the constitution to add T
(transgender) to the name!!!!
~The Log Cabin Republicans are gonna come and have a
discussion group with us. They're "not so conservative
republicans" i guess.
~We decided to cosponsor Scott Friedman along with the
Jewish Hillel and other clubs
~We need ideas for fundraisers
~Check out stopashcroft.com he's satan!
~The international women's film festival starts
tonight at the Market Arcade
~The Vagina Monologues are coming to Pandora's Boxxx
on Feb. 18 at 7:30. $25
~We want to start up movie nights again. Can anyone
have it at their place?
~Mark wants to start some focus discussion groups
every couple of week where there's a chosen topic to
discuss/debate.
~GRASP is going to get back up thanks to Jaime and
Jackie!! we have two requests already...if you're
interested, get in touch w/ them.
~PLEASE KEEP THE OFFICE CLEAN AND PICK UP AFTER
YOURSELF!!!
~Phil is now my bitch!
