The Market is a place where you buy & sell your stuff. It's also a place where
you make offers to new roommates/housemates, or just give away your stuff for no extra
charge.
Please make sure you understand the difference between Advertising and Selling. Things
start to get really out of hand when someone posts a job offer in the Market section.
Also, please don't do transactions in the "General Discussions" section of the forum.
Any post that is unable to comprehend these basic, basic rules will be eliminated.
Rules of the Trade
1. You gotta let us know when you're done selling your stuff. To do this, just reply to your
topic and say something like "SOLD OUT!!" Otherwise many confused users will
continuously try to contact you for items that does not exist.
2. All transactions will be made on the forum. Previous versions of the JSA website made pages
for every single offer, but we don't do that anymore. Post your offer and your contact
information.
3. Make your topic original. You don't have to be Van Gogh or Picasso, but try to make
a difference between your topic and others'. For example, you post a topic called
"Moving Sale." And the next person does the same thing. How are the users going to
tell the difference? Instead, make it something like "19"TV & Cool Furniture
for Sale!!" Got my point?

Posting your offers in the Market won't necessarily give you the
things you need. There are quite a number of people viewing the forum, but not as big
as the entire UB student body.
UB has a gigantic forum made only for selling stuff and roommate/housemate searching.
To access this forum, you will need your UBIT Name and password to subscribe to news.buffalo.edu.
If you have either Outlook Express, Entourage, or Mozilla Thunderbird on your computer, you can get
started!
Outlook Express & Entourage users, follow the steps below to access sunyab.forsale:
1. Go to "Tools" Menu, and select "Accounts"
2. Create a new News account.
3. Enter "news.buffalo.edu" for the news server. Username is your UBIT Name, and password
is your UBIT password. Click OK when done.
4. On the leftmost side of the screen, you should see a news server. Click on it.
5. Use the search bar and type "forsale"
6. Select "sunyab.forsale" and click "subscribe"
