Mike “Bert” Kanaby burst on the scene in the Fall of 2009 as the Ronkonkama Red Rider with his partner the Neil “Ernie” Mcgee A.K.A the Little Long Islander. They are the modern day version of the former “Ace and Gary” of the team. Together, there isn’t any heist they can’t pull. The first hi jacking involved sweeping away two players on the girls teams. The rest, they say is history, or copious amounts of cuddling.
Bert emerged as one of the leading men of the surprisingly talented rookie class of 2010. While he was the recipient of the rookie of the year honors, he was unable to use his talented upside down throws in a meaningful spring game. Bert showed an aptitude for handling early on, developing a long distance scoober that will be sure to decimate zones in the near future. While it is tremendous in length, Bert lacks the expertise and touch for a successful completion, except when he is throwing it to another man. Bert has displayed a sense of calmness that allows him to disarm women with the pickup line “Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?”, showing that he may eventually follow in the footsteps of great past captains.
